Clinical Certifications & Specialties: Residency training at Michael E. DeBakey VA Medical Center in ocular disease, specialty contact lens fittings, management of dry eye, glaucoma, macular degeneration,
diabetic retinopathy, pre- and post-operative LASIK, cataract, & glaucoma procedures.

What drives your passion for optometry? The eye is the window to one’s health. Dr. Muhanna’s passion for optometry comes from knowing a simple eye exam can transform a patient’s life for the better.

How are you helping patients live their best lives? After learning more about her patients’ hobbies and lifestyles, Dr. Muhanna aims to provide patients with the proper eyecare to allow for patients to seamlessly transition back into day-to-day activities.

What does providing a transformational eyecare experience mean to you? Transformational eyecare involves ensuring a relaxed environment to provide patients the opportunity to ask questions and be informed about their eye health and systemic health.

How are you impacting your local community? Dr. Muhanna is passionate about working together with residents of low-income communities by advocating for the importance of eye health and examinations.

Hobbies/Interests: Dr. Muhanna enjoys running, spinning, baking, and listening to podcasts.
